The work Maravillas de la Naturaleza (Wonders of Nature), written in Palma de Mallorca by Friar Juan de Santa Gertrudis, O. F. M., between 1771 and 1775. In Chapter 39 of Volume II, pages 47 to 66, of the Biblioteca de la Presidencia de Colombia edition, there is an interesting account of what happened to the author in Taminango until his return to Pasto from the journey to the Virgin of Las Lajas.
This is the oldest written document referring to Our Lady of Las Lajas. Wonders of Nature dates back to or near the year 1759.
